Subscapularis

Subscapular fossa (anterior surface of the scapula).
Insertion
Lesser tubercle of the humerus.
Action
Medially rotates the shoulder and forms the cuff's anterior wall, buttressing against anterior dislocation.
Nerve supply
Upper and lower subscapular nerves (C5–C6).
Blood supply
Subscapular artery.
Clinical relevance
Its tendon is divided and repaired in shoulder replacement surgery; isolated subscapularis tears follow forceful hyperextension and abduction.
